There are no appearance settings in Icons and text task manager

I am noticing that when widgets are all the same color, it is a bit hard to differentiate them.

If there is a theme with colors that were selected to work with eachother, then there may be colors from the theme to select, and then a set a custom color.

Of note, appearance would be things like font and background image and other non behavior things.
Behavior settings in Icon-and- whatever taskmanager are listed in appearance which should only have appearance things.
Some of these appearance things are kind of in limbo between appearance and behavior, but perhaps there can be another category such as grouping or panel interaction. So Interactivity may be different than behavior?

Still, for that widget all of those things should be under behavior.

Perhaps a better way to say this is, all widgets should have an appearance configuration choice, where colors and background images can be set, without anybody having to edit widgets to allow it, it should be in the skeleton widget.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm a little unclear about what you're asking for. On the one hand, you've talked about the Task Manager, but you've also talked about the system tray and the report references the Widget Explorer sidebar. These are three separate things.

It sounds like you're talking about the widgets in the system tray, so I've re-titled this report along those lines for now. Please describe in more detail what you're asking for and exactly which thing you want to theme.

If you are talking about the system tray, these can already be changed to be colorful. You have to choose an icon theme that provides colorful system tray icons, such as "candy-icons" (you would have to install it). Breeze (the default icon set) uses symbolic icons for the system tray, and they have uniform color as a design choice.

Changing this to wishlist, since it's a feature request rather than a bug.
