Hi! I have some ideas for editing photo names and date assignments. Since my father passed away a few weeks ago, I'm now going through his many photos. So I'm currently scanning a huge number of photos, color films, negatives, and slides. As far as I know, I want to insert the original date into the EXIF data. Then the file will be renamed. ---> [date:"yyyyMMdd_hhmmss"] - Scan 1) Because the scans are often not in the correct order, it would be helpful if I could freely move and arrange the photos in the album. 2) After that, I want to select all the photos and insert the original date and time, with a 10-second interval for each subsequent photo. That works well! 3) I find entering the timestamp inconvenient. I have to scroll up and down through the years, months, and days in the calendar. It would be simpler to enter the date manually, like 30.12.2025. What I'm trying to say is, entering the month verbatim, like "December," is cumbersome. At least with the sheer number of photos I'm currently editing ;-) Perhaps these are good ideas for future versions. I'm currently using XnViewMP for this work. 1) Manual sorting via drag and drop is possible with digiKam. Set the sorting to Manual and by Date or Manual and by Name. 2) The Time Adjust tool in digiKam can write the date to the EXIF data of images with a time interval. 3) digiKam can also do this, for example, in the Caption tab in the right sidebar. Created attachment 188125 [details] Date and Time Hello! I found the place to make the change. But I prefer the "Adjust Time & Date…" menu entry in the Main Window. Here I can preview the new timestamp and enter an interval. This is better for the order of files in Windows Explorer and other programs. As I said, it would be easier if the month were displayed as a number next to the red "1". But okay. Perhaps it has to be this way for countries with a different date format. I'll get used to it. Now I've noticed something else. Is it possible to display the seconds for the modification time and the capture time below the preview images? Regards Andy
I just noticed that I have to be very careful how I select the photos I want to change using CTRL. If I select photo 2 first and then photo 1, they are added to the changes list in that order. If I move the photos around in the changes list, the new times aren't automatically reassigned from top to bottom. Regards Andy

Hi, The VM is down. I currently rebuild all from scratch. It's not yet complete at all. It take more than time than expected. I will restore the backup of the old VM today and continue later the new VM. Best Gilles Caulier

Note that the "seconds" will disappear by default in the next version. However, you can now edit the date format string yourself in the setup and simply append ":ss". Maik
