SUMMARY Hey, I hope I didn't miss an existing bug report for this issue. Sometimes, after waking my system from standby, focused windows are not visible, but focused. I see this with every app, native wayland and xwayland (I attached a screen recording). It feels like focusing a window brings it to the background instead of the foreground, but I can still interact with it, even though I can't see it (also visible in the screen recording). With just one window it's fine (e.g. every but 1 window is minimized), since no other window can "Block the view". The only solution I have found so far is to restart the system. This issue is really annoying, especially since e.g. saving file content before closing is a pain before I can shutdown my system. I cannot provoke this behaviour, I don't know if it happens "randomly" or if something needs to happen before I suspend the system. Today, I didn't have any external displays connected. I just disconnected a controller dongle while the system was in standby, but I don't know if that might be related. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. ??? 2. Go to standby 3. wake up system 4. Interact with windows and notice that windows go to the background instead of foreground when focused OBSERVED RESULT Windows (seem) to go to the background instead of foreground when focused EXPECTED RESULT Windows are always visible when focused SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: openSUSE Tumbleweed KDE Plasma Version: 6.5.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.20.0 Qt Version: 6.10.1 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Since the screen recording file is too big to attach, I uploaded it to YouTube: https://youtu.be/jEvVA_-06eM Should any additional information be required, please let me know. Also please let me know if any log files would be helpful :)
I see you're using the Slide Back effect. Does the issue stop happening if you disable that KWin effect?
