Description Ellie 2025-12-28 15:09:32 UTC
SUMMARY

(Sorry for likely reporting this in the wrong location, but the invent.kde.org bug tracker of plasma-keyboard doesn't seem to allow access for outsiders.) The new plasma-keyboard has no obvious way to access cursor keys or the tab key, hence making it very difficult to use a basic terminal. The special keys don't need to be easy to access, so for example they could be hidden on the numbers pane with some corner button that brings up a third pane. It already helps a lot if they're available in any manner at all.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. Enable plasma-keyboard in KDE settings
2. See plasma-keyboard pop up when you click or tap some text element in some app
3. Try to input a tab key press or a cursor key press

OBSERVED RESULT

There is no obvious way to do these special key presses.

EXPECTED RESULT

There is a relatively obvious way to use cursor keys or the tab key. The menu key for the context menu would also be nice, since some apps fail to implement long press and may put essential functionality only in the context menu.
