SUMMARY Demonstrative video: https://youtu.be/aTZLDEX_r6o Instead of creating a shortcut on the desktop, the action just creates a mass of directories. It would be nice for me to add this shortcut on the desktop for my less technical family members for ease of access. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Drag one of the systemsettings shortcuts to desktop OBSERVED RESULT All start menu categories get copied instead EXPECTED RESULT Same shortcut on the desktop SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 6.5.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.21.0 Qt Version: 6.11.0 Kernel Version: 6.18.2-arch2-1 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ i7-7600U CPU @ 2.80GHz Memory: 24 GiB of RAM (23.2 GiB usable) Graphics Processor: Intel® HD Graphics 620 Manufacturer: LENOVO Product Name: 20HG0003SG System Version: ThinkPad T470s
In the video: 1. Type "printer" in the Application Launcher. The first result is Printers under System Settings 2. Drag the Printers icon from the menu to the desktop. In the pop-up choose "Copy Here" I confirm this behavior. I also tried "Link here" but that created a link to "applications://kcm_printer_manager" Which points to a folder, not the kcm Unfortunately, this is the current expected behavior so it's not a bug. It's not intuitive and I agree it would be more user friendly to allow creating a link to the System Settings or the kcm directly. I'll change this to wishlist so it can be considered
