Description Balázs Szulovszky 2025-12-26 14:36:47 UTC
SUMMARY

I changed the default terminal from Konsole to a different one. (Namely Alactritty)
Alt+Ctrl+T still opens Konsole despite this.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Change the default terminal app in KDE system settings.
2. Press Alt+Ctrl+T.
3. Konsole opens instead of the terminal app the user specified.

OBSERVED RESULT

Described above.

EXPECTED RESULT

The app references should affect relevant shortcuts. (Assuming this is not the only case where this happens.)

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

Linux/KDE Plasma:
KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.6
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.13.0
Qt Version: 6.8.2

Thank you for the bug report!

Debian advises users to not submit bugs upstream (https://www.debian.org/Bugs/Reporting), and Plasma 6.3.6 is no longer eligible for support or maintenance from KDE. It's possible that the issue exists only in Debian at this point.

Could you report the bug to Debian using the report bug utility (https://packages.debian.org/stable/utils/reportbug)? If necessary, the maintainer of the package will forward the bug upstream.
Thanks for understanding!

Thanks again!
Comment 2 Balázs Szulovszky 2026-01-03 22:53:14 UTC
I made the bug report for Debian (see: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1124131) and they suggested me to report the bug upstream. So should I open a new one or update this one?

The core of the issue is that the Alt+Ctrl+T shortcut is assigned to Konsole specifically, not the default terminal.
