Created attachment 187920 [details] Comparison of Overview / Grid View between Plasma 5.27 and Plasma 6.5 Since KDE Plasma 6, the Overview (Grid View) effect displays windows extremely small inside virtual desktops, leaving large unused margins around them. In KDE Plasma 5.27, the Desktop Grid effect used most of the available space, making windows clearly readable. In Plasma 6, the same view prioritizes background visibility instead of window content, which severely reduces usability, especially on small or laptop screens (most of the screen space is wasted on background and margins instead of window previews) This is a clear usability regression compared to Plasma 5.27, I have attached screenshots comparing Plasma 5.27 and Plasma 6.5 showing the difference.
Thank you for the bug report! However Plasma 6.0.0 no longer receives updates or maintenance from KDE; active versions are 6.4 or newer. Please upgrade to an active version as soon as your distribution makes it available to you. Plasma is a fast-moving project, and bugs in one version are often fixed in the next one. If you need help with Plasma 6.0.0, please contact your distribution, who bears the responsibility of providing help for older releases that are no longer receiving updates from KDE. If you can reproduce the issue after upgrading to an active version, feel free to re-open this bug report.
This appears to be an automated response. To clarify: this issue is still present in current, actively maintained versions of KDE Plasma. The attached screenshots were taken recently on KDE Plasma 6.5.4 (KDE Neon), and the same behavior can also be reproduced on the last version of Fedora 43 KDE (with Plasma 6.5.3) So this is not a Plasma 6.0.0-specific issue, nor a distribution-specific one. It is a persistent usability regression present in Plasma 6.x up to at least 6.5.
