Folder View in a top screen panel

SUMMARY

I set-up a panel with a Folder View inside so that it can be automatically masked when a window appear over it. There are several problems with that kind of integration :

1. Given enough space, the Folder View displays the contents of the folder... When the panel is on the side of
the screen. Because when the panel is on the top of the screen, it displays just a symbolic folder icon.
2. When on the side of the screen and with the Dolphin option "Open folders during drag-n-drop", the
destination folder opens... Underneath the Panel with the Folder View inside (and sometimes displaying
"Empty Folder" for the destination folder although it's not empty)... Not much usefull to move
    files.
3. During the last few days, when moving files in the Folder View as a panel element, the Folder View would
display a rotating circle ("Refreshing the contents" I assume) without stopping until the computer is powered
    down. Hard to reproduce :(
4. While moving files, the file icon disappear during drag-n-drop if I'm too fast.

I'm sorry I cannot provide screenshots for every behavior : moving files :(

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create an empty panel on the left side of the screen, with a width of 360px
2. Add a Folder View inside -> The folder contents is displayed
3. Try and move the panel at the top of the screen -> The folder contents isn't displayed anymore
4. Move it back to the left side of the screen
5. Configure Dolphin so that it opens folders during drag-n-drop operations
6. Create subfolders and files in the desktop folder
5. Try and move files from the desktop folder to one of its subfolders

OBSERVED RESULT
- When on the top of the screen, the contents of the folder view isn't displayed anymore
- When moving files the destination folder appear underneath the panel
- When moving files the destination folder appear to be empty when it's not
- When moving files the Folder View keeps displaying the rotating "Refreshing" circle

EXPECTED RESULT
- When on the top of the screen, the contents of the folder view should be displayed provided that there is
  enough space
- When moving files the destination folder should appear over or next to the panel
- When moving files the destination folder shouldn't appear to be empty when it's not
- When moving files the Folder View should only displaying the rotating "Refreshing" circle for a few ms.
