window thumbnails

Description:
On Plasma 6 (Fedora 43, Wayland), when there are many windows of the same application grouped in the Task Manager / Icons-Only Task Manager, a horizontal strip of window thumbnails is shown. With a touchpad, it is possible to scroll this strip left/right using horizontal scrolling gestures. With a mouse, the scroll wheel currently only cycles through windows (according to the “Mouse wheel” setting of the Task Manager) and does not scroll the thumbnail strip itself, so the user must use the small scrollbar at the bottom.

It would be very helpful to have an option to map the mouse wheel to scroll the thumbnail strip (ideally vertical wheel → horizontal scrolling of the strip) when the window previews for a single task are open. This would make working with many windows of the same app much more convenient for mouse users, especially on Wayland where xinput-based workarounds are not available.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Use Plasma 6 on Wayland (e.g. Fedora 43 KDE).
2. Open many windows of the same application (e.g. 10+ browser windows).
3. Hover over the task in the Task Manager / Icons-Only Task Manager to show the window thumbnails.
4. Try to scroll through the thumbnails with the mouse wheel.

Current behavior:
The mouse wheel cycles through windows or does nothing (depending on Task Manager settings); the thumbnail strip is only scrollable via the small scrollbar or touchpad gestures.

Expected behavior:
There is an option to use the mouse wheel to scroll the window thumbnail strip (e.g. vertical wheel mapped to horizontal scrolling of the strip) when the thumbnail view for one task is open.

Additionally, I have the Task Manager configured so that the mouse wheel over the application icon cycles through its windows. I do not want to remove or change this behavior. The request is specifically about adding mouse wheel scrolling support inside the window thumbnail strip itself, where currently only a very small horizontal scrollbar can be used. The idea is to make the thumbnail strip scrollable with the mouse wheel (vertical → horizontal scroll), while keeping the existing mouse wheel behavior over the task icon unchanged.
