SUMMARY
When a text field is selected in macOS, holding option (or alt) and pressing the left or right arrow key moves the cursor word-by-word. This does not work in Kate.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open or write a file with multiple words.
2. Hold option/alt and press the left or right arrow key.

OBSERVED RESULT
The text cursor does not move.

EXPECTED RESULT
The text cursor moves word-by-word.

Kate: 25.08.2

What do you mean by text field? Can you record a video?

Macos shortcuts were fixed after https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=499197 , word movement should now be alt+left/right
