SUMMARY

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Double click a .txt file in Home dir
2. "Open with" panel opens, asking the application to use.
3. Browse and select a suitable editor (e.g. Sublime Text Editor)
4. Set "Remember association etc."
5. Click OK

OBSERVED RESULT
The selected editor opens the .txt file but closing the editor, a double click on the same .txt file repeat the previous procedure.

EXPECTED RESULT
The selected editor opens the .txt file and, after closing the editor, every time I double click a *.txt file the editor opens it.

Comment 1 Duncan 2025-11-29 16:54:04 UTC
Does not reproduce for me on recent Fedora with newer releases of Qt etc.

Operating System: Fedora Linux 43
KDE Plasma Version: 6.5.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.20.0
Qt Version: 6.10.1
Kernel Version: 6.17.8-300.fc43.x86_64 (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland

Krusader: 2.9.0

I had to clear all associations for text/plain in System Settings > Apps & windows > Default Applications > File Associations, but once done, ticking the 'remember' box caused the selected program to show in text/plain > preference order.
