Columns rendered improperly

SUMMARY

KMyMoney "Accounts" UI is not rendering columns properly, there is a gap between columns, and if I add new columns I need to pass over them with the mouse for them to update.

This may be caused by a misaligned setting. Try the following:

a) quit KMyMoney
b) move ~/.config/kmymoney/kmymoneyrc to ~/.config/kmymoney/kmymoneyrc.ori (to keep it as backup)
c) start KMyMoney again

In case that helps, do the following:

d) quit KMyMoney
e) copy ~/.config/kmymoney/kmymoneyrc.ori to ~/.config/kmymoney/kmymoneyrc (so you still have a backup)
f) DO NOT start KMyMoney but
g) edit ~/.config/kmymoney/kmymoneyrc in a text editor of your choice and do the following

Remove the lines that start with "ColumnsSelection=" and "HeaderState=" in the sections [InvestmentLedger], [KAccountsView], [KOnlineJobOutboxView], [PayeeLedger], [SplitEditor], [StandardLedger]. Example of such a section:

> [KOnlineJobOutboxView]
> ColumnsSelection=0,1,3,4,5,6,7
> HeaderState=\x00\x00\x00\xff\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00.....<truncated for readability>

h) save the file and quit the editor
i) start KMyMoney again

In case something goes wrong, repeat steps d) through i). If you are satisfied with the result, you may remove the backup file ~/.config/kmymoney/kmymoneyrc.ori and report back here. If something does not work as expected, please report back as well.

Columns after modifying the config
Comment 3 AlbertoEAF 2025-11-23 17:43:59 UTC
Hello,

If I delete the config it shows up correctly.

However, if I modify the original config as requested I see more columns, but now 2 gaps between columns as in the new screenshot https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=187097.

Just added https://invent.kde.org/office/kmymoney/-/commit/e99b3e64 which may (positively) influence the behavior. If clearing the config helps, then I suggest to follow that route.
