Description p4radigma 2025-11-22 18:46:01 UTC
SUMMARY
Sometimes when pressing Alt + F4 it can cause problems with modifier keys (Alt and Ctrl). When pressing Alt or Ctrl after the bug appeared, the focused application closes. Also the Super key stops working. The bug may be fixed if you press any non-modifier key (such as any letter or number). Tho this issue is rare (I think the chance of occuring is about 20%), it is still very annoying.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Press Alt + F4
2. Press Alt or Ctrl

OBSERVED RESULT
The focused application closes and Super key is no longer working.

EXPECTED RESULT
Nothing happens.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch Linux, kernel 6.17.8
KDE Plasma Version: 6.5.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.20.0
Qt Version: 6.10.0

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This issue has been following me for a long time across several Linux distributions and KWin's version, so this is surely not an issue with Arch Linux or current version of any software.
