Created attachment 186916 [details] Clipboard entry when copying from Libreoffice SUMMARY Selecting and copying an image from Libreoffice or Gimp, or a part of it (from Gimp) is not saved into the clipboard history. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open Libreoffice or Gimp, and insert or open image into it. 2. Select that image (only the image, without any paragraph or text around it in Libreoffice), or a part of it in Gimp. 3. Copy the selection (CTRL+C) OBSERVED RESULT There is no entry in clipboard entry or it is an empty one EXPECTED RESULT The copied image to be in clipboard history SOFTWARE/OS/HARDWARE VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: MxLinux 25 iso / Rosa Desktop Fresh installation / Opensuse Tumbleweed and KDE Neon iso KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.6 / 6.4.5 / 6.5.2 Hardware used: LENOVO IdeaPad Slim 5 15ARP10, AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS, Dell Vostro 15 3530 with an 13th Gen Intel® Core™ i7-1355U ADDITIONAL INFORMATION On the LENOVO IdeaPad Slim 5 15ARP10 with Rosa Desktop Fresh 13 installation there is an empty line which if QRcode can be created, shows a -1x-1 text (which sometimes appears as test entry too in the clipboard). There is a hangup during which the apps fluctuates between a normal estate and a greyed out one (not responding estate) and then the clipboard shows the empty line. I attach screenshot. I cannot reproduce this behavior on the other laptop running the above mentioned isos, only the fact, that nothing is copied from Libreoffice and Gimp. It does not show up anything copying only images from these apps.
Cannot reproduce with both applications. GIMP 3.0.6 and Libreoffice 25.8.2.2

Test on Tumbleweed, plasma 6.5.3, Libreoffice 25.8.3, Firefox 145 and Gimp 3.0.6. Libreoffice no copy of the image, text ok, Firefox an empty line, Gimp nothing.
I also can't reproduce the issue as shown in the screen recording. Using LibreOffice 28.8.4.2 and GIMP 3.0.6. Both from Flathub. Two questions: 1. Does it happen in a new clean user account on the same computer with no customization? 2. Does it happen with Frameworks 6.22 on the computer? It will be released in 4 days.
> Both from Flathub. I don't think a Flathub installation comparison could be relevant. It is a different way than from using a normal installation. In case of Libreoffice installation for example flathub version does not have plasma integration at all. At least that was a few weeks ago, when I installed the flathub version of Libreoffice on a Plasma 6 running PorteuX, hoping to have plasma 6 integration easily. But no. It works on gtk. Maybe is there a way to integrate it, but I preferred to remove it and now being convinced that flathub is not my way of using apps. It just uses multiple GB of storage more, without any optimal result. Finally I succeded to install all the dependencies to have a complete plasma 5 integration into plasma 6 for libreoffice too, which has no kf6 integration by default, only kf5. So, also on PorteuX 2.5 with plasma 6.5.4 there is no copy of image from libreoffice into the clipboard. > 1. Does it happen in a new clean user account on the same computer with no > customization? There is no change. Tested on KDE Neon with Plasma 6.6 Beta - Plasma 6.5.90, Framework 6.23, Qt 6.10.1 and Thumbleweed Plasma 6.5.5, Framework 6.23, Qt 6.10.1, installing the apps on the live system of neon-stable-20260120-0111.iso and openSUSE-Tumbleweed-KDE-Live-x86_64-Snapshot20260128-Media.iso from their repositories. Any kind of thumbnail in clipboard manager from Firefox, Libreoffice or Gimp.
This sounds very similar to bug 513972 GTK applications do not copy to clipboard if clipboard is not empty I'm not able to reproduce with Plasma built from git-master, LibreOffice 25.2.6.2 (native) KDE Neon Testing with 6.6 Beta 2 (6.5.91), LibreOffice 25.8.4.2 (snap) I can reproduce with Plasma 6.5.5 and LibreOffice 25.2.6.2 (native) There have been many fixes related to the clipboard in 6.6. It's likely this has been fixed as of 6.5.91 Can you update your Neon install and let us know if it happens with Beta 2? Thanks.
On Neon with Plasma 6.6 Beta 2 is the same. Not working, perfectly reproducible. Testing on the live iso neon-testing-20260203-0431.iso, libreoffice 26.2 from the official debs, libreoffice 25.8.4 from snap, gimp 2.10 from ubuntu's default repository, gimp 3.0.8 official appimage, firefox installed on the iso - version 147.0. No matter if the clipboard is empty or not, the problem is the same. But also I cannot generalize to GTK apps, because I can copy text from them and image for example from Inkscape, which is GTK app. BUT, and this might be a clue, what is copied from Inkscape is an svg in text format, but klipper do not interpret it as an image and maybe that is why it makes the copy. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=512288 Klipper has big problems handling images, looks that audio files too - https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=513972, maybe generally other types of data, other than text. Because i can reproduce the audacity bug, also with avidemux, which is qt based, no video data saved in clipper. And maybe this is the bug in fact: klipper data handling from apps, no matter if is gtk or qt, data which is other than text.
I cannot reproduce the issue with today's git master of everything KDE on KDE Linux, at least not from the original steps. In KDE neon, are your steps to reproduce the same? Also, since you seem like a technically adept person, any chance I could ask you to try the steps that reproduce the issue in a KDE Linux live session? Tested on Tumbleweed with plasma 6.6.2, framework 6.23, qt 6.10.2. There is no change on Tumbleweed. As far as experienced until today, the steps to reproduce are the same everywhere, no matter which distro I try. I take in consideration to try on KDE Linux too.
