Screen-shot of the problem

SUMMARY
Wallpaper not covering the entire screen regardless of "positioning" choice.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Login to Plasma desktop with wallpaper on.
2. Increase resolution on a screen (main screen of 3 in my case).
3. Observe the wallpaper.

OBSERVED RESULT
The wallpaper only covers the former resolution of the screen. Changing wallpaper, or trying different positioning choices does not rectify the problem. The right and bottom of the screen contains a black edge.

EXPECTED RESULT
The wallpaper is correctly scaled to follow the actual screen resolution.

Does it fix itself after restarting plasmashell? (systemctl --user restart plasma-plasmashell.service) ?

Can you share your output of 'qtdiag' (might be called qtdiag6 in some distros)

Just upgraded KDE Gear to 25.08.3 and logged out and in again. I cannot reproduce the problem now; will report back if it happens again.

Reproduced again today on Plasma 6.5.3. This time without any resolution changes; I used the laptop without the external screens, and when reconnecting using the docking station, the main screen wallpaper has the wrong resolution -- it only fills the upper left of the main screen, 1920x1080 of the 2560x1600 pixels. This is the same resolution as the laptop screen.

In addition to the wallpaper not filling the screen, the context menu (RMB) is not accessible in the region not covered by the wallpaper.

Attaching new qtdiag output; the problem is on screen #3 in the output (Dell).

Restarting the plasmashell service fixed the problem; the wallpaper then covers the entire screen, and the context menu is available on the entire screen (above the panel).

Does this ever happen when you have only one screen? Or only two? Or does it only ever happen with three screens?

Does it ever happen when there's no docking station involved anywhere?
