Description CM 2025-11-13 06:20:02 UTC
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Make sure to have lazy synchronization on and have all the prerequisites for face detection and recognition
2. Select suggestions for people recognized and "Reject this suggestion"

OBSERVED RESULT
The action results in files getting queued for metadata writing. Status bar shows "#### files await synchronization"

EXPECTED RESULT
I would expect no files needing to get metadata changes written from that action, but maybe a database update.

Additional comment: I wonder if this results in any face tagging work getting wiped out in the process.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
digiKam: 8.8.0
KDE Frameworks: 6.17.0
Qt: Using 6.9.1 and built against 6.9.1
Windows 11 Version 25H2
Build ABI: x86_64-little_endian-llp64
Kernel: winnt 10.0.26200

"#### files await synchronization" : "####" is the numbers of files to process, not a wrong formatted string. Right ?

Yikes. Do we know what gets modified in this scenario?
Comment 5 CM 2025-11-13 06:53:29 UTC
Is the fix available to try on a daily build?
Comment 6 CM 2025-11-13 06:55:53 UTC
Nevermind. I don't know why the comments didn't show up when I first clicked on the link. Got my answers.
Comment 7 caulier.gilles 2025-11-13 06:58:40 UTC
Yes fixes are in the daily build: https://files.kde.org/digikam/
Comment 8 Maik Qualmann 2025-11-13 07:00:34 UTC
In principle, nothing was changed in the metadata, but it was rewritten.
