Just open Kdenlive, there is no particular step to follow to reproduce the issue OBSERVED RESULT Clip Monitor and Project Monitor windows show what is under the Kdenlive window (the ChromeOS desktop or other opened app) outside of the video rectangle, indicating an issue with window compositing/opacity. EXPECTED RESULT Clip Monitor and Project Monitor window should show a background color and not what's behind them. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Debian GNU/Linux 12 (bookworm) KDE Frameworks Version: 5.103.0 Qt Version: 5.15.8 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ChromeOS Host: ChromeOS moli, version 141.16404.0 Installation Method: sudo apt install kdenlive MLT Version: 7.12.0 Windowing System: Wayland GPU Acceleration: enabled Host CPU: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1270P Host GPU: Intel Iris Xe Graphics (Integrated)
Your version of Kdenlive is almost 3 years old. Please update to the latest version 25.08.3 and see whether the issue still exists. Thanks!

I installed the new version (25.08.3) via AppImage and it crashes at startup with: The Wayland connection broke. Did the Wayland compositor die?. I could run the app by forcing it to use X11 running: QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb ./kdenlive-25.08.3-x86_64.AppImage and the reported bug does not appear in X11.
