Description Xwang 2025-11-08 23:02:43 UTC
SUMMARY

Plasma-keyboard does not follow the keyboard map selected in the system. On my pc I use French and Italian keyboard mappings, but every time I open the plasma-keyboard, it uses the Italian one.
I can change it using the world button on the virtual keyboard, but it would be better if the one selected system wide was used instead or if I could select which one is the preferred one

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Select on the system settings->Keyboard->on screen keyboard both Italian and French language
2. Select the French keyboard to be used in the keyboard mapping applet in the task bar
3. Open the plasma-keyboard virtual keyboard

OBSERVED RESULT

The Italian keyboard mapping is used in plasma-keyboard

EXPECTED RESULT

The French keyboard mapping set up at system level should be used also by plasm-keyboard (at least as default one when the keyboard is opened the first time)
