STEPS TO REPRODUCE Issue 1 - Manual sorting allows dragging: 1. Right-click Icons-Only Task Manager → Configure Icons-Only Task Manager 2. Behavior → Sorting → Select "Manual" 3. Pin several applications to the taskbar 4. Try to drag a pinned icon to a different position Issue 2 - Non-manual sorting modes cause position shifting: 1. Right-click Icons-Only Task Manager → Configure Icons-Only Task Manager 2. Behavior → Sorting → Select "Alphabetically" (or "Do not Sort") 3. Pin several applications that are not currently open 4. Click to open one of the pinned applications OBSERVED RESULT Issue 1: With "Manual" sorting, icons can be accidentally dragged and reordered Issue 2: With "Alphabetically" or "Do not Sort", when a pinned application is opened, the icon shifts position (with "Do not Sort" specifically jumping to the rightmost position) EXPECTED RESULT Issue 1: There should be an option to lock icon positions in Manual mode to prevent accidental dragging while maintaining custom order Issue 2: Icons should remain in their pinned positions when opened, regardless of sorting mode SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Fedora Linux 43 KDE Plasma Version: 6.5.2 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.19.0 Qt Version: 6.10.0 Kernel Version: 6.17.7-300.fc43.x86_64 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 16 × AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 5850U with Radeon Graphics Memory: 16 GiB of RAM (14.9 GiB usable) Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon Graphics ADDITIONAL INFORMATION - In Plasma 5, sorting modes properly prevented both dragging and position shifting - There is currently no way to maintain custom icon order while preventing accidental dragging - Multiple users on Fedora 43 with Wayland are experiencing this issue - Reddit discussion: https://www.reddit.com/r/kde/comments/1glfmr9/
