SUMMARY


STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Reboot or shutdown
2. Keyboard brightness control will randomly be available from the light bulb icon on main panel.
3. 

OBSERVED RESULT
Control randomly appears 

EXPECTED RESULT
Control should always be available after restart or shutdown.

Thanks for the bug report. Can you let us know if, when the brightness control is missing from the panel, is the slider also missing from 
System Settings -> Display & Monitor ?

Also, when the control is missing, are you able to control the brightness with keyboard keys / shortcuts or is that also not working?

This looks like it might be the same problem as in bug 505290

It's not doing it now since I installed CachyOS and KDE 6.5.3.

But for others it was random and system settings control was present. Keyboard brightness button still worked when missing.

Thanks. I'll close this out since it's no longer happening on your system with the different distro and update.
