SUMMARY When recording the screen in Plasma 6.5.x (currently 6.5.1 as of November 2, 2025), several interface components flicker/glitch, including windows. The issue is not noticeable on the screen itself—only in the OBS preview and the final recording. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. In OBS Studio, create a new source (Screen Capture (PipeWire)). 2. In the screen-sharing portal, select your screen. 3. Start the recording. OBSERVED RESULT Flickering components, such as Kicker, the bottom panel, the clipboard widget, and windows. EXPECTED RESULT No flickering or glitching; smooth recording, as seen in Plasma 6.4.x. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 6.5.1 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.19.0 Qt Version: 6.10.0 Kernel Version: 6.17.6-arch1-1 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ i5-3570 CPU @ 3.40GHz Memory: 16 GiB of RAM (15.6 GiB usable) Graphics Processor: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti (580.95.05) ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I downgraded to Plasma 6.4.x to confirm that the issue is specific to 6.5.x, and indeed, it only started occurring from version 6.5.x onward.

The only explanation I have is that explicit sync is broken for you, but I can't reproduce this issue, neither on AMD nor Nvidia. I also can't think of any commit between 6.4 and 6.5 that could've broken it... Can you still reproduce it with latest Plasma and Nvidia driver? If yes, can you bisect, to find out which commit caused the problem?

My bug report ws at https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=513182 I usualy use a capture card, but when the capture card has issues, thats when i use screencap. I dont remenber fulk screen capture ever working on kde wayland. I can provide more info on my side if you need some, but you would need to say what you are looking for.

Do you remember when you tested it in the past? Plasma 6.3 was the first version that added explicit sync support for screencasts, until then it was always up to chance if it would show glitches or not on Nvidia.
