Hi, I have been having an issue that I recognised mostly when I leave my PC to go to sleep naturally. After turning it back on and logging on, the brightness option seems to disappear. I have found this is linked to the powerdevil service and that appears to die for some reason, I can't pinpoint why. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Change settings so PC goes to sleep by itself. 2. Wait for screen to go black and you are logged out 3. Wake PC up (login screen should only have option to switch user) and login OBSERVED RESULT No Brightness option is system tray is visible EXPECTED RESULT Brightness option should be visible in system tray SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: EndeavourOS KDE Plasma Version: 6.5.0 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.19.0 Qt Version: 6.10.0 Kernel Version: 6.12.55-1-lts (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 12 × AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6-Core Processor Memory: 32 GiB of RAM (31.3 GiB usable) Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Powerdevil service: ○ plasma-powerdevil.service - Powerdevil Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/user/plasma-powerdevil.service; static) Active: inactive (dead) since Thu 2025-10-30 18:22:25 GMT; Duration: 44min 15.315s Invocation: 8004e8cd57774df6ae46127c8cfa744a Process: 1264 ExecStart=/usr/lib/org_kde_powerdevil (code=killed, signal=TERM) Main PID: 1264 (code=killed, signal=TERM) Mem peak: 12.7M CPU: 2.018s Oct 30 18:22:24 endeavour org_kde_powerdevil[1264]: Failed to write to the pipe: Bad file descriptor. Additionally, the brightness seems to be different from what the actually brightness level is, not sure if this is related.
