Current state: Configuring system sounds is currently done in: 1. System Settings -> Colors & Themes -> System Sounds 2. System Settings -> Notifications -> System Notifications However, there are some issues: The 1. only allows you to select a theme - but there is no option to find (e.g. "Get new...") or add ("Install from file") a new theme, despite both being options for nearly all other sections in "Colors & Themes". Currently you can only add a new theme by first downloading it from somewhere as an archive, then extracting it into ~/.local/share/sounds/ and finally selecting it in the GUI, which is quite cumbersome for users to do for every theme they want to try out. Having the option to customise specific events and their sounds would also be great, which you can actually do in 2., but only from there. This is counterintuitive, since you would expect cosmetic customization like that to be under "Colors & Themes". And while 2. is nice to have, it would be better if you could somehow save the custom configuration done there (e.g. "export theme"), to be able to easily share and reproduce the same system sounds elsewhere. So to address these issues, I suggest the following changes: - give an option to import themes in 1. - move 2. to be accessable in 1. (There is no need to remove it from the Notifications tab) Ideally, additional changes would be: - a "Get New" option in 1. - being able to export the currently configured theme
#1 is tracked by Bug 502883 and #2 is tracked by Bug 499277. :) Exporting doesn't really make sense since you wouldn't actually be editing the theme itself. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 499277 ***

I am aware that the themes aren't edited, that is why the idea was that by "exporting" it, a new sound theme is created that does indeed contain the actual edits of the theme.
