SUMMARY
Kwin reloads when trying to launch most applications including displaying the task bar

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Try to open an application, show the task bar (mine is hidden)
2. 
3. 

OBSERVED RESULT
Screen goes black and the desktop is reset. Crash report (attached) in /var/crash

EXPECTED RESULT
No crash

I fixed this by upgrading to the latest nvidia drivers.
