SUMMARY
When I try to copy text from my Windows 11 VM to any program running on KDE, the clipboard is not updated.
This issue started appearing since Plasma version 6.5.

In the VirtualBox guest logs, I see the following error:
In virtualbox guest logs i view
00:00:44.224324 VMMDev: Guest Log: 00:00:24.340557 shclwnd *** Error: Shared Clipboard: WM_CLIPBOARDUPDATE failed with VERR_ACCESS_DENIED

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install virtualbox (last version 7.2.4) but the problem seems to be in others versions
2. create a virtual machine with windows 11
3. open notepad
4 open kate in kde
5. copy from kate to notepad works, but copy from notepad to kate fails

OBSERVED RESULT
the clibboard is not update in virtual machine, in the log there is an error , it seems that kde locks the cliboard

EXPECTED RESULT
clipboard updated with paste from kde

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

Can you try with 6.5.1 and report back. There was a clipboard change that fixed Wine apps, I can believe VMs behave the same

Hello ,

i tried plasma 6.5.1, the problem is still there.

But i don't have the virtualbox log entry anymore.

I’m facing this issue as well, I’ve tested this against Debian, Ubuntu, Arch, Kali, Windows 10 and Windows 11 virtual machines, all have the latest guest additions and extension pack installed

There has been no change in my system’s configuration before and after finding this bug, except upgrading to 6.5.0-1, the new 6.5.1-1 update doesnt seem to fix this
Guest to Host Clipboard is shared flawlessly, however Host to Guest just doesn’t

Bidrectional Clipboard sharing works well in QEMU/KVM virtual machines that have spice agent installed, not sure if this information helps but here it is

Since 6.5.2 verion of plasma, this works again. So i close the bug.
