SUMMARY In KDE Plasma 6.5, if I mute the microphone using the system tray icon, I can't turn it on using a keyboard shortcut. The shortcut works fine for toggling the microphone when it's already disabled, but after disabling the microphone via the tray, it remains disabled until I manually click the tray icon again. It's not a visual issue - the microphone remains completely disabled regardless of using the keyboard shortcut. Translated with DeepL.com (free version) STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Disable the microphone using the system tray icon. 2. Trying to turn on the microphone using a keyboard shortcut will not work. 3. Enabling the microphone via the tray icon restores normal functionality. OBSERVED RESULT The microphone remains disconnected. not regardless of using hotkeys. EXPECTED RESULT The microphone should also be enabled using hotkeys after being disabled in the tray. Linux/KDE Plasma: CachyOS KDE Plasma Version: 6.5.0 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.19.0 Qt Version: 6.10.0 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION No such problems on plasma 6.4.5
I can reproduce this on Plasma built from git-master Also, I saw that when I pressed the unmute keyboard shortcut in step 2, I saw the OSD that the microphone was unmuted. The system tray icon, however, still showed the checkbox next to the mic mute. The settings for Jitsi (in a web browser) showed I still needed to provide access to my mic.

Microphone toggle mute is half-broken, still not fixed in 6.5.3.
Same with right-click and "Force mute all input devices" - when this get unchecked, the microphone is not unmuted, but we got a notification that's unmuted.
This happens on output devices as well
