I've created 2 multi-hour videos using subtitles using kdenlive version 25.08.1 under OpenSUSE Tumbleweed from their repos. Updated Tumbleweed yesterday and kdenlive went to 25.08.2 and attempted to subtitle another video. The speech-to-text worked fine as usual and created the subtitle track correctly, but the subtitles do not appear in the project monitor nor in the rendered video. I attempted to get a 25.08.1 version just to verify, but your archive repos only go up to 25.04.3 and OpenSUSE doesn't show the previous versions. I downloaded 25.04.3 from your repo as an appimage, and it works fine and rendered the video with subtitles as usual. SUMMARY 25.08.2 appears to have a bug that prevents subtitles from appearing either in the project monitor or in the rendered video. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Get a short video clip with speech, ie, 1 minute 2. Run speech-to-text on the video. I am using "Turbo" as recommended. 3. Play video with project monitor ... subtitles do not appear. 4. Render video ... subtitles do not appear. OBSERVED RESULT 25.08.02 doesn't show subtitles in project monitor nor in rendered video EXPECTED RESULT 25.08.02 should show subtitles in project monitor and in rendered video SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20251024 KDE Plasma Version: 6.5.0 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.19.0 Qt Version: 6.10.0 Kernel Version: 6.17.4-1-default (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 Processors: 6 × Intel® Core™ i5-8600 CPU @ 3.10GHz ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Could not readily obtain 25.08.01 for additional confirmation/tests as kdenlive archive stops at 25.04.3; however, that version works. kdenlive-master-11367-linux-gcc-x86_64.appimage which is the 25.11.70 version appears to work fine.
