First, I am sorry if this issue is reported for the wrong component. I have no idea which parts of KDE are responsible for something like the keyboard layouts, so I tried to take a wild guess >,< Since 6.5 when opening many applications (games, flatpak discord etc) they will not use my set keyboard layout (US international) but are stuck in normal US layout. That means it is impossible to type characters the other languages I type in require me to use. The keyboard layout works as it should inside KDE apps and more, but not in all applications anymore. The US international layout is the only one I have set but it is not being used. I tried changing from 'US international dead keys altgr' to 'US international combined unicode' but both behave the same way in regards to the issue. I added both and tried switching between them, but that won't fix it either. The only workaround is removing and readding the layout and apply the setting. Reapplying the layout setting will correctly use that layout in the applications that were stuck normal US. That is until reboot. Currently I can not type regularly on my computer without doing that back and forth and it is really a problem. SUMMARY STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Boot with KDE 6.5 with an alternative keyboard layout like US international set beforehand 2. Try typing special characters with AltGr into various programs 3. Many will not register the layout and are using US default instead OBSERVED RESULT Keyboard layout stuck in US default EXPECTED RESULT type with set layout (US international) SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 6.5.0 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.19.0 Qt Version: 6.10.0 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I tried finding others having the same issue but all I could find was one reddit comment: https://www.reddit.com/r/kde/comments/1of3dbg/keyboard_layouts_stopped_working/
recent updates seems to have fixed it again
sad to say the problem came back/is still there. I don't know why it was fine for a few update cycles... I don't know what information to provide
