This can happen if the separated album view cannot be clearly resolved internally. What album separation (grouping) have you set in the View menu?

I've just watched the video again, and this isn't a category-specific drawing error. Did you set "Windows 11" as the widget style in the digiKam setup? Please change it back to "Breeze."

Folder paths that begin with ??? indicate collections that are not "online."

Hi Maik,
Thanks for taking the time to answer and help. In the appearance, Breeze was, and has always been selected. Previously in Tag view, the item separation was by album. I changed it to flat view, and then more photos appeared, but all were duplicated. Once with ??? at the start of the path, once with the full correct path.

All photos are on my NAS, and flicking through more albums i'm seeing duplications everywhere with ???
I think seeing it in flat view now its clear that theres been some database corruption instead of what looked like album or tag related issues.
Its possible that during a power outage, the nas has gone down and that's caused the issue?

If this makes sense do you recommend to rename the databases to backups, then re-import again? is there an easier way to rebuild it? (i have run the maintenance tools a couple times).
Also, i'm at 1.5tb of photos on SQLlite. Should i just restart with MSQL internal ? I believe this will work better with a NAS. is that right?

Thank you again for your time and help.

Jeff,

About the database, please read the online doc here :

Thanks for that Gilles. I'd not heard back, so restarted with the MariaDB using the NAS storage, and its working fine. Does need to restart every now and then, but no data issues. Your doc confirms that was the right choice.

Thanks very much for your help.
