Description Tallys 2025-10-23 10:54:20 UTC
SUMMARY
The image viewer does not show all images from a HEIC file

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Download a HEIC file with more than one image inside (I suggest Dynamic Wallpaper Club for that)
2. Open the image with gwenview
3. See that only the first image is displayed

OBSERVED RESULT
Only the first image of the collection is displayed

EXPECTED RESULT
Multiple images are displayed independently since a HEIC is not always an animation, additionally the option to save each image as an independent image

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Kubuntu 25.10
KDE Plasma Version: 6.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.17.0
Qt Version: 6.9.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The package libheif-examples already have support for this HEIC feature with the command heif-convert so the base libheif does in fact support reading all images inside a HEIC file
