OBSERVED RESULT The widgets gets covered by the context menu. EXPECTED RESULT The context menu should appear right next to the vertical panel, instead of on top of it. That will allow the user to click on the would-be-covered widget after opening a context menu. Can not reproduce on Plasma 6.4.5? Context menus here open outside the panel.
Created attachment 185996 [details] Reproducing the issue. Then only one of them is working as intended.
In the video, The panel is set to auto-hide, left side. The panel is un-hidden, and the context menu for Icons-Only Task Manager appears over the panel. The context menu also covers the panel when pulled up over other things in the panel, except the sound input widget context menu. I'm am able to reproduce the bug with Plasma built from git-master. It doesn't happen with all areas of the panel, as in the video. I can trigger it by right clicking to the left of the network or clock widgets in the system tray.
Ah, I can reproduce it when the panel is in auto-hide mode. It's unclear to me which behavior is right, but the inconsistency between them probably isn't intentional.
I'm still having this issue in Plasma 6.5
