Description John Gillen 2025-10-20 17:34:17 UTC
After displaying the Tag(s) correctly in thumbnail view, digiKam 8.7.0 suddenly stopped displaying assigned Tag(s). Items selected in Settings/Configure digiKam/Views/Icons are "Show digikam captions" and "Show digikam Tags."

SUMMARY
DigiKam Tags are missing in thumbnail view, with the problem first appearing in 8.7.0. Updating to 8.8.0 has not resolved the issue.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open DigiKam
2. View an album
3. Select Thumbnails

OBSERVED RESULT
The only information displayed under the Thumbnail is the file name.
Selecting any other options, e.g. Show file size does not result in the selected option appearing.

EXPECTED RESULT
Selecting any item in Settings/Configure digiKam/Icons should result in items selected in Settings/Configure digiKam/Views/Icons should appear under the thumbnail.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: 11 Home
Qt Version: 6

You've set the thumbnail size to the minimum (100 px). This hides some information to quickly display a large number of thumbnails. If you increase the size by just one px, everything will return.
