SUMMARY After upgrading to crow-translate 4.0, the global short "Translate seleted text" Ctrl+Alt+E no longer works. Previously it would show a popup window in center of the screen with translated text. Now it would only work with the main window already open. Other shortcuts (eg. "Show main window" Ctrl+Alt+C) seem to work fine. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Install crow-translate 4.0.2 2. Launch crow 3. Press "Ctrl+Alt+E" OBSERVED RESULT Nothing happens EXPECTED RESULT Popup window shows SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS (available in the Info Center app, or by running `kinfo` in a terminal window) Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE Plasma Version: 6.4.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.19.0 Qt Version: 6.10.0 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION built on arch linux with this PKGBUILD: https://github.com/archlinuxcn/repo/blob/master/archlinuxcn/crow-translate/PKGBUILD
Hmm the PKGBUILD looks correct. I think the shortcut for this and the other selection-related functionality really is broken.
can confirm the same behavior in ubuntu 25.10 apt search crow-translate crow-translate/questing,now 2.11.1+git20240108+ds-2 amd64 Operating System: Kubuntu 25.10 KDE Plasma Version: 6.4.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.17.0 Qt Version: 6.9.2 Kernel Version: 6.17.0-5-generic (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland syslog message when using short cut key kwin_wayland_wrapper[1906]: kf.kio.gui: "qdbus" "Programm „qdbus“ ist nicht auffindbar" When opening crow i do get this message in syslog crow[2288]: qt.qpa.wayland: Wayland does not support QWindow::requestActivate()

There is a possible fix in the master branch on gitlab - the issue seems to be that, on wayland, the window needs to be non-minimized and visible (not hidden to tray) to access selection/clipboard. There's a couple of other things I need to fix before I make a patch release though.
err, version 2.x will definitely not be fixed though. Please update directly to 4.x, if anything, because 3.x has broken TTS and a couple of other wayland issues with OCR, possibly the same ones as 2.x.
it looks like ubuntu is still using the git version 2.11 and has not moved to 4.0.2 would the reight way to fill a bug at kde ?
the issue remains even with version 4.0.2-1.fc43 ... SYSTEM: Operating System: Fedora Linux 43 KDE Plasma Version: 6.5.2 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.19.0 Qt Version: 6.10.0 Graphics Platform: Wayland
