SUMMARY I am using a wallpaper that is from an external device that isn't loaded immediately upon boot, and thus it fails to be set upon login (if anyone knows how I can make this *not* happen in Kubuntu, I'd also appreciate) and falls back to the default wallpaper, and I also use a color scheme that tints using the average taken from the wallpaper (which affects the Breeze application theme + window decorations as well as the other included themes). What happens after I set the wallpaper back to the desired one is that the color scheme is updated, however some UI elements, most prominently the window decorations (but also the colorized GTK theme, and maybe a few others) don't update the color scheme, and even if you switch the wallpaper to something else, it is now stuck with the colors of the default wallpaper. This persists even after killing the plasmashell process and restarting it, and is only fixed by logging out and back in. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Set your wallpaper to a picture located in an external device (not mounted automatically), or a picture that is made unavailable, or renamed afterwards. 2. Use a color scheme that has both "accent color from wallpaper" and "tint all colors with accent color" options 3. Log out, or restart OS 4. Log into a session 5. Wallpaper will be set to the default, change back to the desired wallpaper after mounting the external device or making the image file available again OBSERVED RESULT The color scheme will be applied partially to UI elements, but notably the window decorations will persist with the colors from the default wallpaper. GTK applications using the Breeze theme will also not update to use the changed color scheme. EXPECTED RESULT The color scheme would be updated to the average of the currently set wallpaper after a few seconds, window decorations included.
