This is more of a feature request: Folder view has a checkbox setting (Icons tab) "Rename inline by clicking selected item's text". That turns off selecting inline renaming by clicking the text under the file/folder icon, but still renames inline when pressing F2 or selecting rename in the menu. Not sure if it is intentional but I love it. Dolphin does not have this setting. It only allows turning inlined renaming off, but not turning it off just by double clicking the text. Why am I requesting this: quite often, I click the text by mistake when I mean to open the file instead. However, find dialog for renaming confusing, as I do not know wher it will open and is just visually and cognitively distracting for me.
> Folder view has a checkbox setting (Icons tab) "Rename inline by clicking selected item's text". I discovered this is only visible and active in double-click selection mode. > That turns off selecting inline renaming by clicking the text under the file/folder icon, but still renames inline when pressing F2 or selecting rename in the menu. Not sure if it is intentional but I love it. It is, this isn't directly related, and plasma folder view only renames inline. > Dolphin does not have this setting.
