SUMMARY

This really, really hurt my ears. I was using InEars(!) for monitoring and ramped up Gain, unfortunately a bit too much apparently. The sound became extremely shrill and loud. Ouch!!

From now on I only have I keep my InEars unplugged from the ear, when using any effect. :-/

Is there any reasonable setting, where a Gain above ~90 makes any sense? That's roughly the point, where the beeping sound starts for me. The maximum is 600!

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Drag in any video file with audio or any audio
2. Add the Audio Equalizer (avfilter) effect to the audio
3. Adjust the Gain and play back

OBSERVED RESULT
Be warned again, don't do that with InEars. At above a factor of 90 I hear a shrill beeping, which becomes extremely loud when raising the gain a bit more.

EXPECTED RESULT
No ear damaging effects.
