SUMMARY audio tray icon middleclick mute not working instantly, right after switching audio device STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. have 1 sound device connected and mute it with 1 middleclick on the audio tray icon 2. connect bluetooth headset 3. plasma auto-switches to bluetooth sound device unmuted (this is good) 4. use headset for a while 5. disconnect headset 6. plasma auto-switches back to first sound device which is still muted OBSERVED RESULT middleclick on the tray icon once and it will show the pop-up "Audio muted" even if it's already muted before and also shows this on the crossed out icon, so nothing changes after 1 middleclick. EXPECTED RESULT the audio should be un-muted instead because now i have to do the middleclick twice in a row to get the audio un-muted. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: openSUSE Tumleweed KDE Plasma Version: 6.4.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.18.0 Qt Version: 6.9.2
This is fixed in Plasma 6.5.
i am now on plasma 6.5.0 and it's even worse. steps to reproduce are the same. NEW OBSERVED RESULT middleclick on the tray icon once and it will show the pop-up "Audio muted" even if it's already muted before and also shows this on the crossed out icon, so nothing changes after 1 middleclick. + middleclick again will show the pop up of the volume bar showing the volume it would set it now if it was working BUT the tray icon stays crossed out and the sound stays muted. i can middleclick how much i want, the icon will stay the same and the sound stays muted but the pop up of "audio muted" and the "audio on/voume bar" will alternate with every click. i will have to actively scroll the mousewheel when hovering over the icon or set the volume manually to actually unmute.
forgot to reopen but see my last comment.
As the bug was originally reported, I cannot reproduce the issue in Plasma 6.5. It sounds like what you're experiencing now is a different issue, possibly Bug 428778 or something else. Can you please open a new bug report for the issue? Thanks!
