Created attachment 185540 [details] Discover does not order apps by size when sorting by size SUMMARY Discover does not properly sort all applications by size STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open discover 2. Click 'all applications' 3. Sort by size OBSERVED RESULT Below is the first 5 applications (and their reported sizes) shown by discover, in order; -Firefox (283.6 MB) -Kate (35.4 MB) -0 A.D. (3.4 GB) -010 Editor (243.7 MB) -2006Scape (155.9 MB) EXPECTED RESULT Discover would order applications largest to smallest or vice versa. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: KDE Linux 2025-09-20 KDE Plasma Version: 6.5.80 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.19.0 Qt Version: 6.9.2 Kernel Version: 6.16.7-arch1-1 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 2 × Intel® Pentium® 3805U @ 1.90GHz Memory: 4 GiB of RAM (3.7 GiB usable) Graphics Processor: Intel® HD Graphics Manufacturer: LENOVO Product Name: 80EW System Version: Lenovo B50-80 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION In the attached screen recording, you will notice the apps in the list "jump around" as I click on one and then back again. I have a feeling this is related to another bug I've just reported > https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=510267
Can reproduce.
I've also noticed that when sorting 'all applications' by size, Discover seems to list installed applications first, by default. This can be seen in the first video I uploaded. I've tested again just for clarity, and it seems that Discover will not only show installed apps first, but will reorganise the list based on which app you previously clicked on, i.e. viewed its information page. I will upload a second video after posting this comment. At the end of this new video, the app order shown by Discover (and reported sizes) is; firefox 293.6MB zulip 300.8MB kate 35.4MB ark 19.4MB kcalc 3.6MB The funny thing is, the installed apps are in the correct order! They were in the correct order at the start of this video too. If you open Discover and click the 'Installed' page and sort by size, Discover correctly sorts all applications in size order, so this only seems to apply to searching for new apps, not viewing currently installed ones.

HANG ON A SECOND! Discover is sorting all applications by INSTALLED size rather than the size of the DOWNLOAD. Below are the first few items in the 'all applications' list when ordered by size in Discover (and their reported sizes by Discover in brackets) along with the output of 'flatpak remote-info' commands for each application; 0 a.d. (3.4GB in Discover) flatpak remote-info flathub com.play0ad.zeroad Download: 1.8 GB Installed: 3.6 GB 010 hex editor (243.7MB in Discover) flatpak remote-info flathub com.sweetscape.ZeroOneZeroEditor Download: 80.7 MB Installed: 255.5 MB 2006scape (155.9MB in Discover) flatpak remote-info flathub org._2006Scape.Launcher Download: 61.9 MB Installed: 163.4 MB This is not very intuitive. The expectation when reading a reported size in MB/GB when downloading an application is that you're reading the size of the downloaded file, not the size of the unpacked/unzipped/extracted file which has been installed onto your system. As per comment #2; >The funny thing is, the installed apps are in the correct order! This explains why. Apps in the 'Installed' page are listed by installed size, which is why it works here, but not when searching for apps.
