+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #507193 +++

SUMMARY

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open an archive in ark
2. Click the extract button
3. When extract dialog box opens, the extract button at the bottom is grayed out and not able to be clicked
OBSERVED RESULT
The Name field in previous versions of Ark used to auto populate with the name of the archive. Now it is blank and has to be populated with the name of a directory location for extraction instead of an archive name. This can be done by:
 A) previous directory location in the history list by clicking the down arrow in the blank "Name" field
or
 B) has to be populated by clicking on a directory in the "Places" panel
or
C) by typing a directory name in the field.
When typing a directory name in the field, if the directory name is not valid Ark will extract to a previously used extraction location, i.e. typing '/' for the root directory which is not writable as a regular user will allow the extract button to become clickable and no longer grayed out. This will not extract to '/' however, but instead extracts to the last location used to extract an archive.
This is new behavior with updated versions of Ark on Gentoo but I cannot be certain the exact version where it stopped working correctly.

EXPECTED RESULT
When opening an existing archive with Ark, the Name field at the bottom of the Extract dialog box should auto-populate with the base name of the archive. The Extract button in the Extract dialog box should be clickable. Clicking the Extract button in the dialog box should then extract to the directory where the archive is currently located. The directory that contains the archive to be extracted should be the default extraction location. The Extract button in the Extract dialog box should be able to clicked immediately without further selections and should extract to the current directory where the archive is located with one click unless the user chooses to select a different location first. The name field should not require a directory selected for where the archive is to be extracted.
