Description Lazaro O'Farrill 2025-09-30 22:24:37 UTC
SUMMARY
I have an external display connected to my laptop. When I click the audio icon in the system tray it disables the monitor momentarily. It only happens to the external monitor.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. The first time I click the volume icon in the system tray after activating the external monitor it goes black.
2. After the first time this happens as long as I don't change the monitor layout it will not happen again.
3. If I change the monitor layout a couple of minutes later and turn the external monitor back on it will happen again.

OBSERVED RESULT
Clicking the audio icon in the system tray after enabling external monitor momentarily turns off the monitor.

EXPECTED RESULT
Clicking the audio icon does not turn off the monitor.

Thank you for the bug report!

However Plasma 6.3.6 no longer receives updates or maintenance from KDE; active versions are 6.4 or newer. Please upgrade to an active version as soon as your distribution makes it available to you. Plasma is a fast-moving project, and bugs in one version are often fixed in the next one.

If you need help with Plasma 6.3.6, please contact your distribution, who bears the responsibility of providing help for older releases that are no longer receiving updates from KDE.

If you can reproduce the issue after upgrading to an active version, feel free to re-open this bug report.
