SUMMARY
Windows standalone installer (KDE Connect version 25.402.5109.0): firewall prompt incomplete, duplicate firewall entries created, devices never pair

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. Install KDE Connect version 25.402.5109.0 on Windows 11 Home using the standalone installer (MSI/EXE).
2. Launch the program for the first time. When prompted by Windows Defender Firewall, click "Allow."
3. Open Windows Defender Firewall > Allow an app through firewall, then close and re-open this window repeatedly.
4. Observe that each time the window is reopened, an additional "kdeconnect" entry appears. At one point, eight duplicate entries existed simultaneously.
5. Attempt to pair KDE Connect with an Android device on the same LAN.

OBSERVED RESULT

* Initial firewall prompt has no option to allow access by network type (public vs private).
* Each time Allow an app through firewall is reopened, another duplicate "kdeconnect" entry is added; this can accumulate many entries (confirmed up to eight).
* Devices on the LAN cannot discover or pair at all; clipboard sync and other features never work.

EXPECTED RESULT

* Firewall prompt should allow selecting public/private networks.
* Firewall entries should be stable (one entry, correctly split private/public if needed).
* Devices should be able to discover and pair, enabling features such as clipboard sync.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: Windows 11 Home, Version 24H2 (OS Build 26100.6584)
KDE Connect: 25.402.5109.0 (standalone installer)
macOS: N/A
Linux/KDE Plasma: N/A

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

* Installing KDE Connect version 25.402.5109.0 via the Microsoft Store works flawlessly. It creates exactly two firewall entries (one private enabled, one public disabled), does not duplicate, and devices pair instantly. Clipboard sync and pairing succeed near-instantly without error.
* The bug appears specific to the standalone Windows installer packaging, as the MS Store build does not exhibit these problems.

WORKAROUND
Install KDE Connect version 25.402.5109.0 via the Microsoft Store instead of using the standalone installer. This version pairs immediately and configures firewall entries correctly without duplication.
