Description cantoma 2025-09-20 15:23:13 UTC
SUMMARY
Feature request: Option to disable remembering last directory in file dialog

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

Open Haruna

Use File → Open File… and select a video from a directory

Close Haruna, reopen it, then open File → Open File… again

OBSERVED RESULT
The file dialog opens in the last used directory.

EXPECTED RESULT
There should be an option in the settings to disable this behavior.
When disabled, the file dialog should always open at a default location (e.g. $HOME), instead of remembering the last directory.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: MX Linux 23 with KDE Plasma
KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.27.5

Qt Version: 5.15.8

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This is not a bug, but a wishlist item.
It would align with the existing option “Save list of recently opened files” and improve privacy for users who prefer no history to be stored.
