Description Devin Lin 2025-09-17 18:53:49 UTC
SUMMARY

When the virtual keyboard gets opened (either Maliit and plasma-keyboard), weird artifacts and glitching often appears on any Plasma panels below. This happens on both Plasma Desktop and Plasma Mobile.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install and enable a virtual keyboard (ex. plasma-keyboard)
2. Open an app with a text field (ex. systemsettings)
3. Focus on the text field, so the virtual keyboard shows up

OBSERVED RESULT

Observe that the Plasma panel below the keyboard has weird artifacts over it.

EXPECTED RESULT

The panel below doesn't have weird artifacts over it.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: master
KDE Plasma Version: master
KDE Frameworks Version: master
Qt Version: 6.9

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

I started noticing this on Plasma Mobile starting in Plasma 6.4, and it is also easily reproducible on Plasma Desktop.
