Description seanwhearn 2025-09-12 15:55:08 UTC
SUMMARY
In new windows in split view mode, focus does not default to the left pane, and is not set to one pane until you open a folder within that pane.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open a new Dolphin window.
2. Immediately select a location from the "Places" sidebar.

OBSERVED RESULT
Selected location will open in the right pane, even though focus should start (and the topmost file/folder appears to be selected by default) on the left pane. Continuing to select new locations from "Places" will open them alternating back-and-forth between the two panes, until you open a folder within one pane, which will set focus to that pane and stop the alternating behaviour.

EXPECTED RESULT
Focus should start on the left pane, location selected from "Places" should open in the left pane, and focus should follow whichever pane you click on without needing to first open a folder.
