I can't reproduce this. On Wayland, which window is the one that doesn't get grouped?
Created attachment 185001 [details] Screenshot on Wayland > On Wayland, which window is the one that doesn't get grouped? The Chrome main window which shows the web pages is not grouped. The Picture-in-Picture window and the live caption floating window are grouped. See the attachment for my screenshot on Wayland. Also note that the live caption floating window is not always on top on Wayland, which is also pretty annoying, but I believe it's not related to this bug report.
Additionally, I am using the `google-chrome` AUR package (https://aur.archlinux.org/google-chrome.git). Not sure if it's related.
Thanks. How do I make this "Live Caption" window appear? I'm not finding an option for it.
> How do I make this "Live Caption" window appear? I'm not finding an option for it. See: - https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/10538231?hl=en - https://teacherscollege.screenstepslive.com/a/1382629-enable-live-caption-in-google-chrome An easier method that I use is, when there is a video is playing, a playback control button will appear at the top-right corner of the chrome window, next to the button that allows you show/manage chrome extension, also next to your avatar/icon if you already logged in. Simply click that playback control button, you will be able to see the playback control popup, and in the bottom of the popup, you can see the live caption toggle there.
I can't seem to figure out how to turn it on. I'll leave this for someone else.
I can reproduce this on Plasma 6.4.5. on Wayland I see three Chrome icons. When hovering over them: - Google Chrome (with the video thumbnail and title) - Live caption - Picture in picture
Chrome is setting app_id "google-chrome" on the main window and an empty one on the picture in picture window => chrome bug
Kinda surprise this was marked as resolved. Anyway I attempted to report this issue to upstream so people who also facing this issue could track the follow-up status: https://issues.chromium.org/issues/446124896
(In reply to Gary Wang from comment #9) > Kinda surprise this was marked as resolved. The reason this was done is because the problem isn't in KDE code, so it isn't actionable by us. There isn't value in keeping a report open if there isn't anything we can do. > Anyway I attempted to report > this issue to upstream so people who also facing this issue could track the > follow-up status: https://issues.chromium.org/issues/446124896 Thanks! Hopefully the Chromium folks can fix this.
