SUMMARY Ability to move the terminal with it's running process to a new window. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open dolphin. 2. Open the panel terminal (press F4). 3. Start a process. OBSERVED RESULT The terminal cannot be moved out to a separate window. EXPECTED RESULT It should be possible to move the panel terminal to a new window. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Manjaro Linux KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.6 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.17.0 Qt Version: 6.9.1 Kernel Version: 6.12.44-3-MANJARO (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11
I don't know how easy or difficult this would be to implement, but I can see this being worth considering.
Are you suggesting the detached terminal still be a dolphin dependent window ? Or a full fledged konsole window ? (that would be impossible) What should happen when the user opens a different folder in dolphin, should the terminal window be kept in sync. It seems to me, you are expecting too much of dolphin terminal, if you need very long running tasks in a terminal, using a real emulator terminal would be the best way to go. We have a feature to copy to clipboard the current path to easily paste it outside of dolphin.
I think you're right. Is there a status "won't fix" or something similar?
