SUMMARY The mouse pointer is not seen at all regardless of its size setting and the system theme. It can be made visible only by shaking the mouse violently (when the pointer zooms in). STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Install KDE Linux (or run the live version) 2025-09-04 or 2025-09-06 on a VMware Workstation virtual machine. 2. Boot up the system and enter the KDE shell. 3. Try to find the mouse pointer on the screen. 4. Shake the mouse and observe the pointer. OBSERVED RESULT No visible mouse pointer (however, it actually exists and functions properly). After shaking the mouse, it appears for a couple of seconds and becomes invisible again. Note, the pointer IS visible in SDDM. EXPECTED RESULT The pointer should be always visible. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE Linux 2025-09-04, 2025-09-06 KDE Plasma Version: 6.4.80 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.18.0 Qt Version: 6.9.2 Graphics Platform: Wayland ADDITIONAL INFORMATION VMware 17.5 running on a Windows 11 PC, all VM settings by default.
Additional note: if the main PC (not the virtual machine) is accessed remotely (e. g. via Chrome Remote Desktop), the mouse pointer is visible as a black semi-transparent or non-transparent square.
Seems to be fixed in KDE Linux 2025-09-12.
