Description Alain Knaff 2025-09-05 12:01:40 UTC
SUMMARY
When "Keep the selection and clipboard the same", then selecting anything in emacs often results in empty string to be selected instead. No problem observed if "Keep the selection and clipboard the same" left blank.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. In clipboard, check the box "Keep the selection and clipboard the same"
2. Doubleclick on a word in emacs to select it
3. Attempt to paste it into another application (or even elsewhere in emacs itself)

OBSERVED RESULT
Often, nothing is pasted (or sometimes the previous selection)
However, if "Text Selection->Always save in history" is also checked, the selected text is still stored in the history

EXPECTED RESULT
Selected word should be pasted.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Thank you for the bug report!

Debian advises users to not submit bugs upstream (https://www.debian.org/Bugs/Reporting), and Plasma 6.3.6 is no longer eligible for support or maintenance from KDE. It's possible that the issue exists only in Debian at this point.

Could you report the bug to Debian using the report bug utility (https://packages.debian.org/stable/utils/reportbug)? If necessary, the maintainer of the package will forward the bug upstream.
Thanks for understanding!

Thanks again!
