Installed KStars from dmg a few days ago - version 3.7.8 Using MacBook Pro M2 SUMMARY Overall, software seems to run ok at first sight, in fact very impressive - CONGRATULATIONS ! Used now EKOS to access Oregon camera VeLOX715C - with some success in saving sequence images. However had some crashes (possibly asking too much at once, not waiting long enough?) and strange behaviors (possibly user error?) so wanted to access log files. Used the EKOS profile page - Logs button to extend type of info to be logged Result: Can't find any log files written anywhere on OSX STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. restarted stars several times 2. chose different log information content 3. used "Open Logs Directory..." on Logging tab - NOTHING HAPPENS !?!???? OBSERVED RESULT 1. "Open Logs Directory" does not result in anything 2. Using File search (FAF) to locate any new files on system does reveal many files related to KStars, but no files that are of log file nature 3. no folders with names such as 'kstars_logs' or 4. no files with 'log 'in file name 5. image files can be written so access permission to file system seems to be in place EXPECTED RESULT SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: OSX Sequoia 15.6.1 (24G90) (available in the Info Center app, or by running `kinfo` in a terminal window) Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Apologies if this is not a bug, but a case of RTFM - can't find it there either though .... Any hints on user community explaining use of Kstars 'for dummies' would also be appreciated.
discovered that default option in logs does not include creation of log file problem solved - files are now created.
