Works for me in a normal session as well as on the lock screen. Are you saying it doesn't work on the login screen?
Comment 2 Fernando M. Muniz 2025-09-17 23:22:22 UTC
It's happening on the lock screen.

The login screen doesn't even show the volume going down or up.
Comment 3 Nate Graham 2025-09-18 19:41:57 UTC
I can't reproduce either of those issues. On both the lock and login screens, the volume feedback OSD appears, and responds to the Volume Up or Volume Down keys being held down.

Does the issue reproduce in a new clean user account on the same system?
Does it reproduce in the live session of a distro that has a GUI session (i.e. not Arch)?

I can reproduce with a completely new user account.
What distro would you prefer?
Comment 6 Nate Graham 2025-09-18 20:06:50 UTC
This is very strange. I wonder if it's related to the key repeat changes in Plasma 6.5. Can you test with the Plasma 6.5 beta, or git master? Arch has repos that offer this, if I recall.
Comment 7 Fernando M. Muniz 2025-09-19 10:47:22 UTC
I guess I will have to wait for 6.5 or an iso with 6.5 since I don't have an extra drive to install Arch.
Unless there's a way of reverting to 6.4 , but from what I've tried in the past the Terminal just says the beta is more recent.

I recommend adding "a reversible way of testing beta fixes/features" to the list of future KDE plans, it would help reporters a lot.

Fixed in 6.5.0
